Your support for the #DREAMAct is still needed.  Please take some time to make some phone calls and join us for phone banking to connect Latino voters to their Congressional members.
There is a lot going on and you need to stay engaged.  Please stay up to date with us on for the latest actions and information.
Please join our advocacy efforts by joining our texting campaign.  The image to the right is our latest way to engage with our supporters in a timely manner and make our efforts more effective.  Please stay engaged and respond to important actions by texting the word IMMIGRATION to the short code number 864-237.  This will add you to our texting program to ensure we speak up at needed times.

Many people will become U.S. citizens this year and will need to register to vote.  Volunteers are needed to help us with this initiative. Please volunteer if you can!

GALEO Institute for Leadership Graduation 2017
Applications being taken for the Class of 2018 GALEO Institute for Leadership!
GIL is a nationally recognized program that has developed over 604 knowledgeable, skilled, committed, and action-oriented leaders in the state of Georgia. The nine-month program engages participants once a month for a full day of leadership sessions that are facilitated using curriculum from the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership at the University of Georgia and GALEO. Participants complete a group community project that benefits the community and are given frequent opportunities to network amongst their cohort, with elected officials, and with other community leaders.

The 2018 Cesar Chavez Essay Contest has started!  Great PRIZES will be awarded!  All Adults & High School Students in GA are eligible to enter!
The GALEO Leadership Council has announced details for the 11th Annual Cesar Chavez Essay Contest.
Chavez’s leadership was critical to organizing farm workers and founding what is today known as the United Farm Workers union. Chavez remains one of the foremost Latino leaders in American history.
High school students and adults residing in the state of Georgia are encouraged to participate and submit their essays for entree in one of three categories. Categories include:
  • Adult category (essays submitted in Spanish or English)
  • High school student category (essays submitted in Spanish or English)
  • ESOL high school student category (essays submitted in English by ESOL students)
Deadline for submissions is February 17, 2018.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three winners in each category.  Prizes will be announced in January 2018.
