There is a lot going on.  It is hard to stay on top of things sometimes.  YOUR engagement is needed NOW more than ever.  With this in mind, you need to have the right skills and leadership abilities, which you can learn, in order to serve our community better.  YOU do not want to miss this great opportunity to join us on Saturday at Georgia Gwinnett College for the 1st Annual Latino Leaders Summit, hosted by OLAS & GALEO, to learn new skills and network with other Latino leaders across the state.  More info is provided below.  Register today because the deadline is tomorrow.
Also, you can start NOW working with us on the 2018 elections.  We are working on local elections and registering voters to get out to vote.  Please contact to volunteer for these efforts.

Hurricane Relief for Puerto Rico on Sunday

Date:  Sunday, October 1, 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

Location:  Gallery 992, 992 Ralph David Abernathy blvd, Atlanta, Georgia 30310
Notes from organizers:  The most-needed supplies include medicine, first-aid kids, drinking water, personal-hygiene and feminine-care products, cots and sleeping bags, diapers and wet wipes, pet food, bug repellent, baby formula, pajamas, sheets, towels and adult diapers. We will have trucks ready to deliver the stuff to the designated locations for the Delta Cargo Plane that will be flying out the next day to Puerto Rico. We will also need large cardboard boxes!!!. I need all the volunteers there by 2:30pm. We will have food and music to lift our spirits so bring your flags… THANK YOU!!!

The New Americans campaign is hosting a free citizenship workshop October 14th at the Guyanese American Association 1970 Panola Rd, Lithonia, Georgia 30058 at 9am. At this free naturalization workshop, we will be helping green card holders apply for U.S. citizenship. Green card holders will be given one-on-one assistance in completing their application forms and fee waivers, provided with individual legal review by an attorney, and given a clear list of next steps.
