Over the weekend, white supremacist and Nazi groups organized a violent demonstration that lead to one of them murdering an anti-racist protestor.  This was an act of terrorism against people who stand against racial bigotry and hatred.
President Trump once again failed miserably by not openly condemning the attacks.  Given that as a candidate, Trump used much racial animosity to fuel his Presidential campaign, it does not come to a surprise that he would stand with the white supremacists groups.
In fact, the white supremacist groups were cheering the fact that there was no condemnation coming from President Trump.  Furthermore, after calling for “unity” on Saturday, the President released a campaign ad attacking the media and his opponents.
President Trump clearly has ceded any moral authority in ruling our nation.  The continuation of service by Steve Bannon in the White House further demonstrates an allegiance to racial animosity and bigotry given his history and work at Brietbart.
During this time of racial unrest in our nation, we must engage at levels we have not done so in the past.  The future of our nation is in our hands and we cannot cede any ground to those who view the future of this country as a haven for white supremacy.  We must all work against these trends and work towards a peaceful, diverse and democratic nation that values our diversity as a great strength.
The time for standing on the sidelines is not now.  Please step up and join our efforts.
Below, there are many opportunities to make your voice heard in a peaceful manner that furthers democratic ideals and values for our nation.
Take a stand and join us to continue moving our nation forward to progress and help stand up to the forces of evil that are based upon hatred and bigotry.

New York Times Editorial:  “The Hate He Dares Not Speak Of”
Let’s discard the fiction that President Trump wasn’t placating white supremacists by responding so weakly to the neo-Nazi violence that killed Heather Heyer, a 32-year-old counterdemonstrator in Charlottesville, Va., on Saturday. The neo-Nazis heard his message loud and clear.

Make a call today!  Oppose the RAISE Act!
Days of Action: Raise Your Voice Against the RAISE Act

CRSA members met with the staff of Senator David Perdue to discuss his co-sponsorship of S. 354, the RAISE Act. This bill aims to cut legal forms of immigration in half over the next ten years. It will do this in multiple ways:
  • Limits refugee arrivals to 50,000 per year.
  • Reduces the number of family-sponsored immigrants allowed, cutting the list of family ties to only include spouses and unmarried children.
  • Ends the diversity visa program, which welcomes 50,000 new Americans annually.
We need you to help convince Senator Perdue to remove his name from co-sponsorship of this anti-welcoming bill!
Call Today: (844) 749-7985

Please take a moment today to call Senator Perdue’s office to ask him to remove his name from this bill. Remind him that you want to keep Georgia, and the United States, as a welcoming place for all refugees and immigrants.
