Domestic Violence Direct Services Coordinator


Job Description

 Provide culturally appropriate legal advocacy, including immigration assistance, and support services for refugee and immigrant domestic violence survivors within metro Atlanta.
 Provide phone assistance to survivors throughout Georgia.
 Conduct meetings, and accompany survivors to court proceedings.
 Provide information about restraining orders, family court, criminal court, immigration laws, and other legal procedures.
 Provide information and referrals about legal resources and other community resources.
 Assist clients faced with domestic violence and sexual assault with safety planning, identifying options, and problem-solving.
 Provide client-specific advocacy to meet identified client needs, such as contact with other service providers, including law enforcement.
 Assist clients in filling out restraining order paperwork, filing, and attending injunction hearings.
 Assist client with immigration process, including support letter for case, when needed; and assist with obtaining an attorney.
 Accompany clients to other hearings as required.
 Adhere to organization policies and work rules, including confidentiality and code of ethics.
 Conduct trainings and outreach activities in the refugee and immigrant communities.
 Keep detailed records of all client services provided.
 Secure interpreters and translators as needed.
 Transportation to meetings and other appointments as needed.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in social work or psychology• Minimum 2 years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence • Valid Driver’s License and insured vehicle • Bilingual Required, Spanish Required.
Salary: $31,000.
