Elections Office seeking poll officials for upcoming elections
The Gwinnett County Voter Registrations and Elections Division is calling on the public to participate in the upcoming November general election as paid poll officials, including Spanish speakers.
There are 156 polling places, each of which typically has about 10 workers to set up and break down voting machines, check voter identities, process voters, answer questions, and ensure an orderly balloting process. In addition, a variety of job opportunities are available in the Elections Office on election day and election night.
Applicants must be at least 16 years old, a U.S. citizen, and be able to read, write, and speak English. They also must be a Gwinnett County resident or a Gwinnett County government employee, and they must have access to a computer for required online training and a vehicle to get to and from the polls.
Poll official positions offer valuable work experience. Currently, available positions pay a $120 stipend.
If you are interested, visit www.gwinnettcountyjobs.com for information regarding qualifications and to apply. Applicants should be prepared to provide I-9 documentation.
Also, if you have family members, friends, or neighbors who may be interested in being a poll official, please encourage them to apply today at www.gwinnettcountyjobs.com (search for Poll Official). Help make every vote count this election year!
