Project Coordinator (Bilingual) – Consultant

Latino LinQ is committed to the work they do with the Latinx LGBTQ community and in the areas of health disparities and HIV. A grant funded temporary consultant position (through November 30th) has been created to assess and evaluate current resources about PrEP in the Metro Atlanta area; and to create an information guide for further education of the Latinx Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community, as well as those considered MSM.

Position: Project Coordinator (Bilingual) – Consultant

 

The position of Project Coordinator-Consultant is a temporary consulting position with limited hours. This is an independent, temporary contracted position (1099) tied into the grant awarded to Latino LinQ for this work. This position is ideal for graduate students and newly graduated individuals who are seeking to increase their experience in the field of public health.

 

Duties:

  • Research and develop timely public health guidance to inform the public (culturally specific communities)
  • Determining current state of PrEP resources in Metro Atlanta that will include interviewing stakeholders, conducting listening sessions, analyzing data, etc.
  • Manage the design, creation and publishing of public health materials
  • Develop and implement communications to achieve public health objectives, including social marketing tools and content, and provide community education
  • Conduct grant reporting
  • Work closely with board of directors, communicating outcomes and progress along the way
  • Others duties as needed
  • This position reports directly to the Board President

 

What you bring to the table:

  • Knowledgeable on cultural responsiveness around working with the LGBTQ Latinx community
  • Knowledgeable on cultural responsiveness around working with immigrant populations
  • Knowledge of PrEP, HIV prevention and access to care
  • Community outreach and engagement and community organizing
  • Knowledgeable of research methods
  • Knowledgeable on health disparities in the above mentioned communities

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or humanities (e.g. Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, etc)
  • 1 year minimum of research experience
  • 1 year minimum of experience related to working with non-profit or government organizations conducting public health initiatives (meaningful volunteer experience counts)
  • Bilingual English-Spanish

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in science or humanities (e.g. Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, etc)
  • 2 years of research experience in public health issues
  • 2 years of non-profit related experience on public health
  • Strong Spanish (oral and written) skills
  • Basic design knowledge

 

Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications, experience and education. Job closes on May 28th. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Candidates must have reliable transportation and driver’s license.
