Fall 2008 Interns

Catherine Foster, Columbia Theological Seminary

Catherine Foster is a native of Chattanooga, TN. In 2005, she graduated from Davidson College where she studied Religion and Spanish. Catherine received several grants to publish and promote a new church curriculum about Christian responses to Latino immigration, entitled Beyond ¡Hola!: A Christian hospitality project for Mecklenburg County’s churches. From September 2005 to September 2006, Catherine directed the seminar program and supported the advocacy efforts of the Presbyterian United Nations Office in New York City. Last year, she obtained a Master’s in International Relations with Distinction from the University of Bristol, UK on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. In the summer of 2007, Catherine began the three-year Master’s of Divinity program at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA. Over the next two years, she will be working to adapt and publish her Beyond ¡Hola! church curriculum for the Atlanta context. Catherine is passionate about serving at the intersection of the Church and the world.

Jonathan Flack, Emory University

Jonathan is an Atlanta native and a third-year undergraduate student at Emory University where he is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in History with a Spanish minor. This past summer he taught English to high school students in Cuzco, Peru while living with a host family. Jonathan enjoys traveling, playing soccer, politics, and international affairs. After graduation he plans on attending law school and possibly getting involved in politics.
