Paula A. Molano, Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida

Having been born and raised in Colombia, Paula Molano moved to the United States in 2006 to pursue her college education. At the age of sixteen she settled in Atlanta by herself and entered an ESL program at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In 2010 she graduated Cum Laude from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, receiving her Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in International Business with a concentration in Management.

While in college, Paula volunteered for different organizations that focused mainly on immigration, tutoring of elementary school children and animal advocacy. After receiving her BS, Paula interned with the Administrative Office of the Courts in Atlanta where she attended the Senate and House committee meetings and wrote legislative reports for judges in the city. In addition, as a fluent Spanish speaker, Paula has served as an interpreter for pro-bono cases and volunteered during the Citizenship and Naturalization Day hosted by her law school.

This fall Paula will start her third and last year of law school at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. Her experience, passion for immigration, and fluency in a second language helped her gain a position at her school’s Immigration Clinic during the upcoming school year, where she will be able to work on real pro-bono cases under the supervision of professors and practicing attorneys. Furthermore, she is an active member of the school’s International Law Society and will obtain her International Law Certificate along with her J.D. in May 2014.

Paula intends to live in Atlanta after graduating from law school and would like to become an Immigration Attorney and advocate for the rights of Latinos and other immigrants.

Paula is also passionate about traveling. She has been to several countries in South America and has studied abroad in Australia and Europe. She also enjoys playing tennis and reading novels.
