Leopoldo “Polo” Vargas (He/Him/Él) is a Mexican-American Program Coordinator for Operations and Communications for GALEO. He is from Guanajuato, Mexico. Raised in Fayetteville, GA, Polo graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Polo served as the senior editor for the Georgia Political Review magazine, Vice-President of the Hispanic Student Association, and as a Resident Assistant for University Housing at the University of Georgia. Polo enjoys singing Miguel Bosé’s songs at the top of his lungs and rooting for his favorite soccer team F.C. Barcelona. Polo has been serving the Latinx community in Georgia since 2018 and looks forward to advocating for the Latinxs and immigrant rights with hopes of making his immigrant parents proud.
