Stefany Alvarado is a trilingual immigrant woman born in Guanajuato, Mexico and raised in Rome,
Georgia. She is graduating from Georgia State University in May 2021 with a bachelor’s in
journalism, bachelor’s in French and minor in speech communications.

During her undergraduate career, Alvarado has taught health literacy in the Dominican Republic,
has mentored Latinx high school students and has written a thesis analyzing media coverage of undocumented Latino immigrants.

Her mission is to continue representing and advocating for marginalized communities, starting with
the Latino populace.
