Creative Program Coordinator for Leadership Development (Bilingual)

The Creative Program Coordinator for Leadership Development will be supporting the Director for Leadership Development. This role supports the marketing and communications for Leadership Department programming and events. The position of Program Coordinator for Leadership Development will help with the GALEO Institute for Leadership (GIL) program which includes the statewide and University cohorts. The Program Coordinator will also assist in planning other leadership events such as the annual Latino Leaders Summit and the Leadership Series. 

This is a hybrid office/telework position but requires in-person event support on weekends and some evenings as needed by the Leadership class and event schedules. 

Description of Duties:

  • Create, design, and publish a monthly GIL alumni newsletter
  • Creating digital and other forms of content as needed
  • Entering, managing, and updating data and photography/art for the department *Responsible for photography of GIL sessions, Latino Summit/ Series, and other events for future use
  • Prepare materials for the GIL cohort sessions
  • Be present during the cohort sessions – 1 Saturday a month (February – November); University cohort meets once a month on a weekday (September – April)
  • Work alongside with intern when it comes to surveys, newsletters, and other duties 
  • Help coordinate the annual Latino Leaders Summit and other events
  • Assist with planning and attending the Leadership Series in surrounding universities/ counties
  • Perform other administrative tasks within the Leadership Department
  • Attend and participate in other GALEO events (i.e. Hispanic Heritage Month Luncheon)
  • Support GALEO Leadership Council as needed
  • Represent the organization in professional settings
  • Collaborates closely with universities and other organizations to build, formalize, operationalize, and manage partnerships for future events.
  • Engages in other organizational activities and new initiatives as necessary, both in the focus area of partnership and otherwise
  • Responsible for planning, development, and implementation of recruitment tactics for statewide GIL and GA State Universities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required, or at least 1 year in equivalent work experience
  • Previous work experience in project management and logistics is highly preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends) and to travel
    domestically on occasion
  • Knowledge of modern computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and Canva 
  • Skills in graphic design 
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
  • Photography and video editing skills are preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of and/or interest in the Latinx community 
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced work environment and take initiative on related projects 
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission, goals, and work of GALEO
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a strategic and efficient fashion
  • Experience in marketing coordination or similar role
  • Strong administrative, management, facilitation, interpersonal, and leadership development skills
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs, long periods of standing and/or sitting

GALEO offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience.  Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision, and generous 401k match.  Hourly pay rate range: $20.20-$21.64 per hour based upon relevant experience.
