Andrés “Andy” Waisser (he/they/él/elle) is a Leadership Department Intern for GALEO. They are from Mexico City, and currently studying to obtain a B.A. in Political Science at Emory University. Andy believes Latines sharing their stories and connecting in large numbers builds a sense of purpose and leadership within the community, Working as a Digital Organizer in the Georgia Youth Justice Coalition, and being a member of the Executive Board in the Oxford Latin American Association (OLA) at Oxford College are some ways he uses communication and planning to build community and protect voting rights for disenfranchised groups. In their free time, they enjoy listening to Rosalía and reading.
