Edgar Sanchez (He/Him/Él) serves as a Community Organizer for GALEO. Born in Decatur, Georgia, Edgar is a descendant of Mexican-Nicaraguan roots. He graduated from Georgia Gwinnett College with a bachelor’s in Environmental Science with a concentration in the social sciences. Edgar is passionate about fighting for his community and the wildlife and nature surrounding them. He spearheaded a new project at Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation department to map native plant species to protect them against climate change and help create a sustainable future for all Hispanic and Latinx people in Georgia.
