(Norcross, Georgia) – April 1, 2019 –  GALEO and The Latino Community Fund announced today the launch of the activities of the Georgia Latino Complete Count Committee (GLCCC), a diverse coalition of community organizations, businesses, faith leaders, media and individuals committed to a full count of every person of Hispanic or Latin American descent in Georgia.

The GLCCC is co-chaired by Jerry Gonzalez, Executive Director of GALEO, and Gigi Pedraza, Executive Director of the Latino Community Fund.

The 2020 Census is critically important to our communities, local government and the state. The decennial census provides essential data to make informed decisions for the next ten years, including reapportionment, redistricting, funding for community programs and services, schools, health services, and business-relevant information.

Organizations, businesses, and individuals working with the Hispanic / Latinx community in Georgia are welcome and encouraged to join the committee and support activities and programs to make sure that on April 1, 2020, exactly a year from today, every person in the state is counted once and only once.

Two events are being conducted today to announce various collaborative efforts across the state.  Jerry Gonzalez, Executive Director of GALEO, will speak at the Capitol and at Atlanta City Hall for these efforts.  See below for more details.
